Report of Possible Cyanobacteria Bloom Lake Winnisquam 5/26

When: May 26, 2025
Where: Lake Winnisquam, South end near outflow
Status: 5/27 3:45p.m. DES reports filamentous green algae called Mougeotia, no cyanobacteria
Sampling Plan: Sample sent to DES May 27 a.m.
Notes: The WWN received a report on 5/26 of a possible Cyanobacteria bloom at the southern end of the lake, near the outlet. If anyone is in that area and can send us photos of the bloom we’d very much appreciate it (text to 802-449-6035).
